The Great Indian Kapil Show is back on Netflix with its fourth season. The first episode is now streaming, and fans just can't keep calm. A major highlight of the new season is the return of Navjot Singh Sidhu. His iconic ‘Thoko Taali' line and ‘shayaris' are once again part of the show. Sidhu has resumed his place on the special guest seat with Archana Puran Singh, bringing back a flavour that many viewers had been missing.
Sidhu had made his return to Kapil Sharma's show during Season 3 after a gap of nearly five years. His comeback grabbed a lot of attention and became a major talking point.With Sidhu paaji now continuing into Season 4, interest around his association with the show has only grown stronger.
When Season 3 premiered on Netflix in June, Siasat reports suggested that Sidhu's return to the OTT platform came with a hefty price tag. According to Siasat, he charged between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 40 lakh per episode.
Season 3 had a total of 14 episodes. Sidhu appeared in 11 of them and was absent from episodes 2, 3 and 13. Based on his reported per-episode fee, his estimated earnings for the season are said to be between Rs 3.3 crore and Rs 4.4 crore.
Kapil Sharma also hinted at Sidhu's high remuneration in a humorous way during the show. While welcoming him back, Kapil jokingly thanked Netflix for increasing the budget, saying it allowed them to afford Sidhu paaji. The comment drew loud laughter from the audience.
