Thane Traffic Alert: Roads Between Gaimukh, Kajupada & Fountain Hotel Closed On Dec 7; Check Alternate Routes

Traffic on parts of Thane-Ghodbunder State Route 84 will be restricted on Sunday, December 7. According to an advisory by the Thane Police, roads will be closed between Gaimukh Nirakendra, Kajupada and Fountain Hotel. The notification also mentioned that alternative routes have been arranged for the benefit of commuters.

Thane Traffic Closures On December 7

As per the Thane Police, the closures will take place within the Kasarvadavali traffic subdivision limits. Roads will be closed from midnight to 11:59 pm on December 7. “Within the limits of Kasarvadavali Transport Sub-Division, grouting and mastic asphalt work will be carried out on 07/12/2025. It is necessary to make traffic changes for the convenience of the general public," the notification read.

Thane Traffic Closures: Alternate Routes

Heavy vehicles travelling towards Ghodbunder Road from Thane and Mumbai will face traffic closures at the Y Junction and Kapurbawdi Junction. As an alternative, all heavy vehicles heading to Ghodbunder Road can access the area via Nashik Road from the Y Junction through Kharegaon Toll Plaza in Mankoli. They may also take a right turn near Kapurbawdi Junction and continue via Kasheli and Anjurphata.

Heavy vehicles moving towards Ghodbunder Road from Nashik will be blocked at Mankoli Naka. Drivers moving from Nashik can turn right under Mankoli Bridge and reach Ghodbunder Road via Anjurphata.

Heavy vehicles travelling from Mumbra, Kalwa, to Ghodbunder Road cannot proceed further than the Kharegaon Toll Plaza. Alternatively, the vehicles can reach their desired destination through Kharegaon Bay Bridge, Kharegaon Toll Plaza, Mankoli, and Anjurphata.

As for light vehicles moving towards Ghodbunder from Thane, the riders will have to go from Gaimukh Chowki on the Ghodbunder Thane road through the wrong side and move towards the cut in front of Fountain Hotel to reach their destination.

Traffic Control In Kalyan

Traffic restrictions on the Kalyan East-West connecting bridge will remain in place till Thursday, December 4. All vehicles moving from the bridge to Kalyan East will not be allowed to use the main entry point. Only emergency services, such as the fire brigade, ambulances, and essential police vehicles, will be exempt from the restrictions. Commuters have been advised to travel using alternate routes.

The notification provided alternate routes for travellers. These restrictions will remain in effect until midnight on December 4.
