SSC MTS, Havaldar Vacancy List Out: 7948 Posts To Be Filled; Check Details

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the tentative number of vacancies for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) recruitment for 2025. According to the official notice, a total of 7,948 vacancies will be filled through the recruitment drive. This includes 6,078 posts for MTS (18–25 years), 732 posts for MTS (18–27 years), and 1,138 positions for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN units.

Category-wise, of the total vacancies, 3,679 are unreserved, 1,973 are allocated to OBC, 859 to SC, 621 to ST, and 816 to EWS categories. As many as 310 vacancies are for PwD categories, and 731 are reserved for ex-servicemen.

How To Check SSC MTS 2025 Tentative Vacancies List?

Step 1. Visit the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in.

Step 2. Click on the notice for SSC MTS 2025 tentative vacancies list on the homepage.

Step 3. A new PDF will open where candidates can view the details of the vacancies.

Step 4. Download the file and keep a hard copy for future reference.

SSC MTS Selection Process

For the MTS position, the selection process will solely involve a Computer-Based Examination (CBE). For the Havaldar position, candidates will undergo a CBE, followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).

The first session will include Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving. Each section will have 20 questions, worth 60 marks each, and Section-1 will be qualifying.

Session-2 of the exam will also be 45 minutes long. It will feature questions on General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. Each section will have 25 questions, worth 75 marks each. The final merit list for the MTS position will be based on the marks obtained in this session. There will be negative marking in session-2, with a deduction of one mark for each wrong answer.

Through MTS recruitment, various departments of the central government hire individuals for positions such as peon, chowkidar, jamadar, gardener, gatekeeper, etc. Additionally, recruitment will be conducted for the positions of havildar in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs and Central Narcotics Bureau.
