SpiceJet Passengers Protest At Airports Over Delays

SpiceJet Passengers Protest At Airports Over Delays, Cancellations And Baggage Issues | Videos Go Viral
Passengers at Mumbai and Delhi airports raised slogans against SpiceJet after multiple flight cancellations, delays, and baggage issues left many stranded.
Hundreds of passengers faced long delays and cancellations at Mumbai Airport after several SpiceJet flights were affected late on April 29. The situation led to chaos at Terminal 1, where frustrated travellers were seen arguing with airline staff and demanding answers.
Videos from the airport later surfaced online, showing angry passengers shouting slogans against the airline at both Mumbai and Delhi airports. Many travellers complained about poor communication, lack of support, and hours of waiting without clear updates.
Passengers Question Airline Staff
Several clips shared online showed upset passengers surrounding SpiceJet employees at the airport. In one video, a passenger questioned why boarding passes had been issued despite there reportedly being an aircraft shortage.
Another clip showed a large crowd of travellers raising anti-SpiceJet slogans inside the airport terminal.

A passenger posted on X (formerly Twitter) around 1 am and accused the airline of failing to update travellers properly. “@SpicejetP making everyone fool. Flight running 8 hrs late. They don’t even bother to inform passengers,” the user wrote.
The passenger also complained about the facilities provided during the delay. “No food facility, no lounge access @ServiceSpicejet must shut down, worst aircraft,” the post added.

Travellers Also Report Baggage Issues
Apart from delays and cancellations, some passengers also claimed they faced baggage problems after finally reaching their destinations.
In another X post, a traveller alleged that luggage belonging to many passengers was not loaded onto the flight after delays in Delhi. According to the post, airline staff informed passengers that it happened due to a technical issue.
The passenger wrote, “The baggage was promised to come at 5 AM, then 8 AM, then 10 AM and still hasn’t come.”
The user further claimed that many travellers were angry and confused because they were not getting clear information. “Two female travellers are in tears,” the post added.

Airline Explains Reason For Disruption
SpiceJet later issued a statement explaining the situation. According to the airline, three flights from Mumbai were cancelled due to operational reasons.
The affected flights included Mumbai-Delhi, Mumbai-Gorakhpur, and Mumbai-Bengaluru services. The airline said one aircraft had been grounded, while bad weather at earlier stations also caused problems for flight operations and crew timings.
The statement further said that two Mumbai-Ahmedabad flights were delayed because of weather conditions at previous locations, including Varanasi and Bagdogra.
SpiceJet also said additional flights were being operated on April 30 to accommodate affected passengers and apologised for the inconvenience caused.
