Sorab Bedi Reacts To Malaika Arora Dating Rumours After Viral Party Video: 'I Met Her Through...'
Actor Sorab Bedi has been making headlines ever since a video of him partying and dancing with Malaika Arora surfaced online. The clip, which quickly went viral on social media, showed the two sharing a warm hug and dancing closely, sparking speculation among netizens about a possible romance.
With Malaika’s personal life often under the spotlight especially after her breakup with Arjun Kapoor, the viral moment quickly turned into a talking point online. However, Sorab Bedi has now addressed the buzz and dismissed rumours of a romantic relationship with the Bollywood star.
In an interview with Zoom/Telly Talk India, Sorab Bedi expressed disappointment over the assumptions being made about his bond with Malaika Arora. The actor clarified that the two share nothing more than a friendship and explained how they first met.
Sorab revealed that he was introduced to Malaika through his mentors, Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta, during his modelling days. Through them, he eventually became part of the same social circle and began attending parties where Malaika was also present.
“Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta gave me a chance to walk the ramp during my modelling days. I became friends with them and started going out for parties. At one of the parties, I met Malaika (Arora) through my mentors. She is also a close friend of Delnaz and Vahbiz. Hence, Malaika and I became friends. There is nothing between us," he said.
Responding to the online chatter surrounding their viral video, Sorab admitted that he was disappointed by how quickly people jumped to conclusions.
The actor said, “People are talking several things about us. They should think twice before speaking about a girl. It could affect her mental state. Aisa karna nahin chahiye. (They shouldn’t do it)."
Sorab also explained that the video being discussed online was not from a new interaction and that he has been part of the same friend group for years.
“I didn’t party with them for the first time. I have been partying with Vahbiz, Delnaz and Malaika for many years. I earlier used to share pictures with Malaika, but at that time, I was not a known face. Now, I am a known face; hence, it is now being noticed by people," he shared.
He further pointed out that such pictures and videos have been posted before as well, but they went largely unnoticed when he was not widely recognised.
“Two people can be friends. We trust each other, but people took it differently," he added.
For now, Sorab Bedi has made it clear that the speculation surrounding him and Malaika Arora is unfounded.
The 31-year-old actor is currently seen as a contestant on Splitsvilla 16 and has previously appeared in television shows such as Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi and Chand Jalne Laga. A fitness enthusiast, Sorab says he hopes to continue exploring diverse roles in the television industry in the coming years.
