Six Naxals Killed In Encounter With Security Forces In Chhattisgarh's Bijapur
At least six Maoists were killed after an encounter broke out between security forces and Naxalites in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Tuesday, sources told CNN-News18.
According to sources citing officials, the exchange of fire took place today morning in dense areas around six kilometres west of Kandulnar in Indravati National Park forest, under Modakpal police station limits.
The Maoists opened fire on security personnel when a team of forces was out on an anti-Naxal operation based on inputs about the presence of senior Maoist cadres, news agency PTI reported.
Following the gunfight, security forces recovered six bodies of Maoist cadres from the encounter site. The identities of the deceased are being ascertained, officials said.
