Brazilian wunderkind Endrick, who made the move to Ligue 1 side Lyon from Real Madrid, has settled into life at the French city and trained with his new teammates, who have received him with open arms.
Lyon head coach Paulo Fonseca said that the 19-year-old has been adapting well and could have his first run-out in Lyon colours on Jan 11 in the side's cup match against Lille due to deadlines imposed by the DNCG, French football's financial watchdog.
“Endrick started training this week and is adapting very well. The whole group has welcomed him warmly, he is very happy and we are very pleased to have him with us," Fonseca said.
“He is ready to play matches, he has trained well and is very motivated," he added.
Lyon have had a turbulent season so far, currently sitting fifth in the French top flight.
Their total of 22 goals scored is the lowest in the top half of the table, and Fonseca hopes their new high-profile recruit can change the fortunes for the former seven-time champions.
“He is a player with a different profile, which is what we needed. He is very strong technically, very fast and will bring individual initiative," Fonseca continued.
“He is a player who creates space, and the game will be different when he is on the pitch."

Having started his career at Palmeiras, he drew comparisons to the legendary Pele early in life and secured a high-profile move to the Spanish outfit Real Madrid. However, the forward has struggled for playtime and hopes that the six-month period at Lyon will boost his profile in the eyes of Madrid.
Lyon are fifth in the French top tier, behind Lens, PSG, Marseille, and Lille, with 27 points from 16 games, including 8 wins, 3 draws, and 5 defeats.
