Saudi Arabia’s 5-Star Luxury Desert Safari Ride Costs More Than A European Holiday: Check Price, Route, Travel Timings

Have you ever imagined travelling smoothly through a desert in a moving palace? Well, Saudi Arabia has decided to make that fantasy real. The country is stepping far beyond futuristic megaprojects and its newest launch is something magical: a five-star luxury train called Dream of the Desert, set to launch in 2026. And trust me, this is not just a train, it's an experience of a lifetime.

A video shared on Instagram gives viewers a peek inside what many are calling the most beautiful train in the world. In the caption of the video, the social media user wrote, “Did I just find the most beautiful train in the world? Let me introduce you to the newest and Saudi Arabia's first 5-star luxury train."

Inside View Of Luxury Train

The train features fourteen carriages, thirty-four suites, majlis-style lounges and designer interiors inspired by desert dunes and Saudi heritage. The user added, “I cannot wait to try this one and share everything with you! A real moving palace through the soul of Arabia."

Here's What Internet Has To Say

The train is designed to function as a hotel, restaurant and cultural representation all at once, and this is exactly what has amazed the Internet's hearts. A user wrote, “I've never wanted to do something more! This looks amazing." Another added, “I didn't know this was open yet! Wow, can't wait to see." While some called it “amazing," and others referred to it as “wow."

Someone else reacted, “Wow, first I saw something British stolen by someone else, that's how Russian and British trains looked in the 50s."

Dream of the Desert is being built by Italy's renowned Arsenale Group, the company behind Europe's premium luxury trains. Commissioned by Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR), the project aligns with the country's Vision 2030 plan. The interiors of the train blend modern luxury with the warm soul of the Arabian desert. It has carved wooden details, desert-themed palettes, sleek tile-fronted bars and soft velvet banquettes.

Since official ticket prices haven't been released, we have to compare the charges with other luxury trains' charges for an estimate. Based on similar international experiences, it is advised that travellers must be prepared for a budget for a significant cost. For the one- to two-night journey, the price per person might fall within the range of $3,000 (around Rs 2.67 lakh) to over $5,000 (around Rs 4.5 lakh), and it could possibly be higher for the Presidential Suites.
