In an industry obsessed with miracle creams and quick fixes, Saif Ali Khan believes the real secret to healthy skin and a youthful presence lies somewhere far less glamorous: everyday discipline.
The actor recently spoke about his approach to ageing well during a conversation with his sister, Soha Ali Khan, on her YouTube podcast. Rather than crediting a skincare routine or expensive treatments, the 55-year-old actor pointed to something far more fundamental – a balanced lifestyle built on sleep, nutrition, exercise and mindful habits.
For Saif Ali Khan, looking good is less about cosmetic solutions and more about the cumulative effect of small, consistent choices.

According to Saif, the idea of ageing gracefully begins with a broader perspective on health. He emphasised that physical appearance is often a reflection of how one lives day to day. “It’s a holistic thing, you have to sleep well, eat well, especially at my age, and exercise. Every little thing shows up on your face. To look good, you also have to behave well," he shared.
This philosophy mirrors what many wellness experts emphasise today: skin health is deeply connected to internal wellbeing. Poor sleep, stress and erratic eating habits can often show up as fatigue, dullness or premature ageing.

Saif also acknowledged that the body becomes less forgiving with age. Habits that might not have had visible consequences in one’s younger years begin to show up more clearly over time.
When discussing skincare specifically for people in their 50s, the actor explained that the biggest factor is lifestyle consistency. “It reflects my lifestyle, my thoughts, and just generally good behaviour. You can’t get away with anything anymore."
Late nights, excessive partying or smoking may once have seemed manageable, but the long-term effects eventually become visible. “It takes a little time to accept that those days are gone," he admitted, highlighting a shift toward moderation and self-awareness that often accompanies ageing.
Fitness has also been an essential part of Saif’s routine for decades. While he has often spoken about strength training and sports in the past, his recent comments reinforce the importance of staying active, not just for appearance but for overall vitality.

Regular exercise supports circulation, improves energy levels and helps maintain muscle strength – all factors that contribute to looking and feeling healthier over time.
Even as he focuses on wellness, Saif’s professional calendar remains packed. The actor will soon be seen in the investigative drama Kartavya, directed by Pulkit and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment for Netflix. He is also set to appear in Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan, marking his on-screen reunion with Akshay Kumar after nearly 17 years.
For Saif Ali Khan, the message is clear: ageing well isn’t about chasing youth, but it’s about cultivating habits that support health, balance and longevity.
