Making his much-anticipated return to the competition, Sharma smashed 155 off 94 balls, including 18 fours and nine sixes, to guide Mumbai to an easy eight-wicket victory at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. During the innings, a fan from the stands asked Sharma if he wanted to eat vada pav, prompting the veteran to wave his hands and gesture ‘no', drawing laughter from the crowd and online users alike.

By 9 am, a majority of the stadium was already filled, underlining the enduring appeal of star players in Indian cricket. Fans skipped work and college, while chants praising Sharma echoed across the stands as he acknowledged the crowd with a raised hand.
Mumbai's chase becomes a Rohit Sharma show
Mumbai were set a target of 237 after Sikkim posted 236 for seven. Once it became clear that Sharma would bat, the atmosphere intensified, with almost no empty seats visible in the stands. Sharma dominated the bowling with trademark strokes, including swivel pulls, lofted hits down the ground and sweeps, as Sikkim's attack struggled to contain him.
