Rishab Shetty is back in the spotlight, but this time not for a film release. The actor-director, last seen leading Kantara: Chapter 1, has reportedly stirred curiosity online after unfollowing several associates on social media.
Did He Unfollow His Kantara Co-Stars?
According to recent reports, including those by Bangalore Times, Rishab Shetty has unfollowed his former co-stars Rukmini Vasanth and Raj B Shetty on Instagram. Their names are no longer visible in his following list, prompting speculation about a possible fallout.
The development has gained further attention as it comes alongside reports that Rishab also unfollowed the makers of Kantara and the production house Hombale Films.
However, there has been no official confirmation of any disagreement, leaving room for the possibility that the move may not be tied to any underlying conflict.

Interestingly, despite unfollowing the production banner, Rishab continues to follow its founder, Vijay Kiragandur, suggesting that the situation may not be as straightforward as it appears.
Revisiting Kantara: Chapter 1
Rishab Shetty’s last outing, Kantara: Chapter 1, saw him not only in the lead role but also at the helm as director. The film, set centuries before the events of the original, dives into the origins of the conflict between a royal lineage and a tribal community.
The story follows a ruthless king who invades a land inhabited by the peaceful Kantara tribe, only to face the wrath of divine spirits Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva. As generations pass, the narrative explores how power, legacy and belief systems collide, with supernatural forces stepping in to restore balance.
The film also featured a strong ensemble including Jayaram, Gulshan Devaiah, Pramod Shetty, Rakesh Poojari and Prakash Thuminad.
What Lies Ahead
Looking forward, Rishab Shetty is set to headline Jai Hanuman, a large-scale mythological project directed by Prasanth Varma. Following the success of Hanu-Man (2024), the upcoming film will see him step into the role of Lord Hanuman.
The project officially went on floors with a pooja ceremony in Hampi in February 2026, adding to the anticipation around the film.
For now, though, it is Rishab Shetty’s social media activity that has caught everyone’s attention, leaving fans wondering if there’s more to the story than meets the eye.
