Planning to watch the Republic Day celebrations in person this year? Ticket bookings for the 2026 Republic Day events have officially opened, and visitors can now reserve seats through the Ministry of Defence's Aamantran mobile app on iOS.
India will be celebrating its 77th Republic Day, and excitement is already building among people hoping to witness the parade at Kartavya Path. The event is known for its grand military displays, colourful tableaux from states and Union Territories, and energetic performances by schoolchildren and marching contingents. This year, the participation of the Army's “silent warriors” — trained animals used in operations — is also expected to draw attention.
Ticket sales for both online and offline modes started on 5 January and will continue till 14 January 2026. As seats are limited and turnout is usually heavy, visitors are advised to book early and plan ahead.
The Beating Retreat ceremony, which marks the formal end of the Republic Day celebrations, will once again feature military bands from the Army, Navy and Air Force, precision drills and coordinated musical performances, along with light displays at historic venues.
Tickets can be booked through the Aamantran platform. After selecting the preferred event and number of seats, attendees must provide basic details and upload a valid photo ID such as Aadhaar, voter ID, driving licence, PAN or passport, make the payment and download the e-ticket. The same ID has to be shown at the venue.
Tickets are also available at authorised government counters in New Delhi. Original ID proof is required at the time of purchase.
