‘Relax Your Shoulders’: Nervous Dad’s Nervous First Hug With Baby Shows ‘Even Strongest Person Has Trembling Hands’
A wonderful video of a father feeling totally nervous and trembling before holding his newborn baby brought a wry smile to everyone’s faces. In a heartening post shared over Instagram, one could see the father being an absolute nerve wreck as the doctor gently passed the child in his hands. It was a moment of joyful fear and awe, together experienced by the man who had just become a father to a little soul.
Even as the doctor tried guiding the father on how best to hold the baby, the father kept shaking. The doctor later told the father to calm down and just position his hands beneath the baby before she passed the baby to him.
Father’s Amusing Reaction To The Newborn
“The strongest person has trembling hands to hold the tiny joy. Moments are lived. Memories are cherished every day, every minute, every second; the new joy joins the family," wrote the doctor, sharing the clip, in which the father’s body funnily stayed stiff and unsure even as he held the baby in his hands. The doctor then laughed and told the father to let his shoulders loose and relax.

The man finally let go of his worry for the baby’s safety and offered a beaming smile reflecting his bundle of joy and happiness at the sight of the newborn. That reaction was priceless and summed up how most first-time fathers react to the news of their first child arriving in their lives. It’s a moment of true happiness but also a realisation of responsibility, which can make you nervous and anxious.
‘Every Father Knows This Feeling’
As the video of the father shaking in nervousness over the sight of their newborn gained traction online, people poured their hearts out for him and the little child in the comment section.
“Those whose first baby is a girl can truly understand this feeling," mentioned an individual.
Someone else said, “Every father knows this feeling."
“This made me cry, I don’t know why," commented a person.
One other praised the doctor for calming the father. “Such a beautiful moment. I love the way you comfort him," the user said.
Before holding the newborn, it is always important to be gentle with one’s hands and first support the baby’s head and neck, since their muscles are still very weak and vulnerable. The doctor made sure the father followed this important guideline, even though he was all too nervous before receiving the baby in his hands.
