India’s double-Olympic medal-winning former hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, who played a crucial role in reviving the glory of the esteemed team, shared his thoughts on various topics, including dreams, attitude, and the contrasts between being a player and a coach.
Sreejesh, who transitioned to a coaching role after concluding his illustrious career at the Paris Olympics 2024, believes that true inner strength lies in the ability to persist despite adversities.
The legendary Indian goalie, who maintained his position for over two decades, reflected on his Olympic journey that started with disappointment but ended with immense joy. He also discussed his struggle to recover from injury and how the jersey he displayed in his room served as a source of motivation.

A: Dream. The future belongs to people who dream.
Q: What does Rising Bharat mean to you?
“Its about making your country proud on the on the field which where I belong. For me as an individual or as a member of the team, its about where you are finishing in the next Olympic game.
“The 2028 LA Games is really important for us and for me Rising Bharat is all the more crucial because if we are bidding for the 2036 Olympic Games and we are hosting the Olympic Games, I can say to the world, we Indians are ready to host this Olympic Games. So that’s makes me the Rising Bharat."
“We should be in the frontline and we just need to believe that we are the leaders and lead people. That’s we need, we need to believe it first. And secondly, we can learn from others and we we can be the model for the rest of the world," he concluded.
