Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana 2 Delayed As Actor Gives Dates To Bhansali For Love And War?
Ranbir Kapoor is currently working on two projects – Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War. It is no secret that the former is a two-part movie, to be released on Diwali 2026 and 2027, respectively. However, looks like fans might have to wait a little longer for Ramayana: Part 2.
If a recent report by Deccan Chronicle is to be believed, Ranbir Kapoor had initially planned to complete the two parts of Nitesh Tiwari directorial and then work on Bhansali's Love & War. However, since Ramayana shoot is taking long, Ranbir has now decided to give all of his dates to Bhansali.
“Ranbir had planned to complete the two parts of Ramayana, then finish Bhansali's Love & War. But the film is showing no sign of getting done. Therefore, he has no choice but to give Bhansali all the dates that were originally meant for Ramayana Part 2. This means that Part 2 may not be able to reach theatres as per plan at the end of 2026," a source cited by the news portal claimed.
What Do We Know About Ramayana?
While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita. KGF star Yash will now be seen as Ravana in this movie. Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey will play the roles of Hanuman and Laxma,n respectively. On the other hand, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Mandodri and Surpanakha. Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan are also a part of this project. Reportedly, the makers have already wrapped up the edit of the first installment of the film.
What Do We Know About Love And War?
Bhansali's Love and War also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead. Earlier this year, Ranbir Kapoor talked about the project during a meet and greet event in Mumbai when he said, “Love and War is something which is every actor's dream. To work with brilliant actors like Alia and Vicky and to be directed by the master – Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I worked with him 17 years ago. To work with him again, I can say this with so much of clarity that I haven't met a human being who works so hard, who understands characters, emotions, music, Indian culture, Indian value system, as much as Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Just to be on his set, it is tiring. It is long. The process can be a little daunting but eventually, as an artist, it is so satisfying. He really nurtures art. As actors, it's truly been amazing so far."
