Rajasthan Court Grants Six-Month Interim Bail To Asaram Bapu On Medical Grounds
The Rajasthan High Court granted self-styled godman Asaram Bapu six months of interim bail on medical grounds.
The Rajasthan High Court on Wednesday granted self-styled godman Asaram Bapu six months of interim bail on medical grounds.
The decision was pronounced after a hearing before a division bench comprising Justices S.P. Sharma and Sangeeta Sharma.
Asaram's advocate, Yashpal Singh Rajpurohit, informed IANS that the court approved the interim bail for medical reasons while also laying down specific conditions. “The court has imposed conditions related to police custody and his conduct, as well as group meetings. We will provide further details once the full order is released,” Rajpurohit said.

Earlier, on January 7, a single-judge bench had granted Asaram bail with certain modifications.
The latest order extends temporary relief to the convicted spiritual leader, who is currently serving a life sentence in a rape case.
Approaching the apex court, Asaram has sought bail citing deteriorating health and the need for advanced medical treatment.
