Priyanka Chopra spoke about why being fierce and fearless is important, especially for young girls chasing their dreams.
Moving from Bollywood to Hollywood without any certainty of success is a huge risk and very few actors dare to take it. But Priyanka Chopra did just that and cemented a strong place in the global platform with hard work, confidence and determination. From ruling the Hindi film industry to establishing herself internationally, her journey reflects resilience, ambition and an unwavering faith in her potential.
Apart from acting, she has also been a strong voice for women’s empowerment. In a recent interaction, Priyanka spoke about why being fierce and fearless is important, especially for young girls chasing their dreams.
Priyanka Chopra Says Girls Must Be Fierce, Shares Example From The Bluff
In an interview with India Today, Priyanka Chopra stressed the importance of raising confident young girls. “It’s very important for girls to be fierce,” she said, adding, “It’s very important for us to find agency and our voice very early. We need to be surrounded by confidence.”
Priyanka is currently gearing up for her upcoming Hollywood action thriller The Bluff, set to premiere on Prime Video on February 25. Speaking about the film, she highlighted a powerful scene that blends strength with vulnerability. In the middle of an intense fight sequence, her character Ercell Bloody Mary Bodden pauses to reassure her child, saying, “Mama is okay.”
A Lesson From Her Father Shaped Her Fearless Outlook
Priyanka shared that her fearless attitude was nurtured at home. She recalled, “My dad used to always tell me to be the fiercest one in the room, and not be afraid if someone tells you that you’re too fierce, because that’s what happens to girls.”
She pointed out how society often judges women differently for traits that are praised in men. “We are told we are too tenacious, too ambitious, too fierce, too intelligent, but men are called like, what a boss,”she said.
Though the double standards frustrate her, they have also motivated her to speak up more strongly for equality and confidence among women.
“It might be very hard for other people to stand up for you”
Priyanka said she relies on her inner strength, even during moments of doubt. “So whether I’m unsure about where I’m going, I always try to have a belief in me, and I think that’s the fierceness you’re talking about, and I advocate that for girls everywhere,” she said.
The Varanasi actor also spoke about the reality women face every day. “We live in a world where if you don’t stand up for yourself and set the tone, it might be very hard for other people to stand up for you, unfortunately.”
