Pixel 10 Users Are Getting Major Hardware Upgrade With New Android 16 Update: Know More
Pixel 10 devices have once again shown Google's focus on AI and less so on performance but the company is willing to make the upgrades post launch. The latest Android 16 update is going to offer a GPU upgrade for the Pixel 10 family which should ideally make it a lot better for gaming and other graphics-intensive tasks.
Google did mention its plans to offer a GPU-related update for the Pixel 10 series earlier this month and now the Android 16 QPR3 version shows us the company was telling the truth.
Pixel 10 GPU Upgrade Coming With Android 16
The GPU upgrade on the Pixel 10 was much needed because Google has left the performance side of the devices much closer to a mid-range phone. But do these updates actually deliver anything significant for the hardware?
Some users have installed the Android 16 QPR3 update on the Pixel 10 and they have noticed some improvements but only a minor bump in the level. This is still a beta version so the actual Android 16 release over the next few months could give us a better idea about its performance and if the Pixel 10 can become a viable flagship challenger after these updates.
Google Pixel update is rolling for Pixel devices who are getting the December 2025 version, along with a slew of problems getting fixed for select Pixel phones. Google has already offered the main December 2025 Pixel Drop with new features and security patches but now some users are getting another update this month which is not as heavily loaded as the first version.
Many Pixel 8, 9 and even the 10 users have confirmed the update roll out in countries like the UK, and parts of US with some in India also getting the small update. The new Pixel update is available over the air and comes at around 27 MB without any specific mention of new features but does talk about fixing bugs on the Pixel devices related to battery drain, touch input issues and content access.
