Pakistani Taliban Threatens Asim Munir, Says 'Fight Us If You Have Had Your Mother's Milk'

Amid the ongoing clash between the Taliban and Islamabad, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has threatened Pakistan's army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, claiming that the Pakistani army should avoid sending soldiers to get killed and instead, top officers should lead themselves to the battlefield.

Releasing several videos, the TTP released videos including battlefield footage of an October 8 ambush in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Kurram, in which the TTP claims 22 Pakistani soldiers were killed. The videos also showed the captured ammunition and vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani official record shows fewer casualties: the army acknowledged 11 soldiers killed in the attack.

According to a report published in NDTV, in one clip, a senior TTP figure identified by Pakistani officials as Commander Kazim appeared on the camera and threatened Asim Munir, saying, “Face us if you are a man."

In the same video, Kazim then goes on to say, “Fight us if you have had your mother's milk." Kazim is the same person; the Pakistani authorities announced a reward of 10 crore on.

The Pakistan and Taliban-led authorities in Kabul agreed to an immediate ceasefire mediated by Qatar and Turkey in mid-October. The development came days after the cross-border shelling, air strikes and tit-for-tat exchanges claimed civilian lives on both sides.

The ceasefire was announced in Doha and framed as a necessary step to stop the escalation along the porous Durand Line.
