OYO IPO Soon? Company To File DRHP In November, Eyes $7-8 Billion Valuation, Says Report
Global travel tech firm OYO is preparing to file its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in November, targeting a valuation of $7-8 billion for its initial public offering (IPO), news agency PTI has reported citing sources. It said the company is expected to place the proposal before its board next week.
A company spokesperson, however, maintained that the timeline remains undecided: “While we cannot comment on any timelines related to OYO's DRHP or IPO related plans, since it's a decision that will be guided by OYO's Board of Directors and will be solely at their discretion. For now, OYO continues to evaluate a range of strategic options to drive value for its stakeholders."
According to the report, valuation discussions have picked up pace in recent weeks, with guidance pegged at around Rs 70 per share, translating to nearly 25-30 times OYO's EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and depreciation).
“The filing with regulators is being considered for November. Over the past few months, SoftBank has engaged with banks such as Axis, Citi, Goldman Sachs, ICICI, JM Financial, and Jefferies in London to assess market sentiment. After assessing market feedback, they are now confident in their decision. The board will be approached next week as the company firms up the details and finalises key strategic elements," PTI cited a source as saying.
SoftBank, OYO's largest shareholder, is expected to play a key role in the IPO process. The proposed filing will likely highlight OYO's Q1 financials, a period marked by strong growth and improved fundamentals, aided by double-digit expansion in the broader hospitality sector.

Alongside its IPO preparations, OYO is working on a new parent brand identity to unify its portfolio. Earlier this year, founder and CEO Ritesh Agarwal had crowdsourced name suggestions for Oravel Stays Limited via social media, with the chosen name potentially becoming the group's new identity.
The company is also considering launching a separate app dedicated to its premium and mid-market hotels, a segment witnessing rapid growth across India and key global markets.
