Huang is the co-founder and CEO of leading chipmaker Nvidia, which has a market valuation of a record $5 trillion, surpassing that of Apple, Microsoft and Google.

Huang was born in Taiwan in 1963. He spent his early years in Thailand before moving to the US. He earned his master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford.
During the late 1970s and early 1980s, Huang worked at Denny's, a popular American restaurant chain as a dishwasher, busboy and waiter. Huang's LinkedIn profile includes information regarding his time spent working as a dishwasher at Denny's.
Huang has previously discussed his early work experiences in interviews, explaining how doing a variety of jobs shaped his work ethic and leadership style by teaching him discipline and resilience.
Huang co-founded Nvidia with Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem in 1993. Under Huang's leadership, Nvidia revolutionised computing with its GPUs. The company's hardware powers everything from self-driving cars and data centres to AI models used by Meta, Google and Amazon. Today Nvidia's explosive growth amid the AI boom has made it the most valuable company in the world.
According to Forbes' Real-Time Billionaires Index, Huang's personal net worth now stands at an estimated $179.6 billion. Currently Huang is the eighth richest person in the world, surpassing former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Dell founder Michael Dell.
Most of Huang's fortune stems from his stake in Nvidia, which he co-founded in 1993 and has been CEO of ever since.
