Nothing OS 4.0 Update Now Rolling Out For Phone 3a And Phone 3a Pro Users

Nothing OS 4.0 update is now heading to more Phone models and the company has confirmed its availability for its mid-range devices. We saw the flagship Phone 3 get the Android 16 update recently and now the brand has it rolling out for its older devices which many can try out.

The Android 16-based version has been in the beta phase over the last few weeks and the public release means Phone 3 as well as the Phone 3a/3a Pro users get first dibs on the stable roll out.

Nothing OS 4.0 Update: How To Install

Nothing Phone 3a/3a Pro users can head over their device settings and install the Android 16 update with these steps:

Nothing OS 4.0 Update: What You Get

The Nothing OS 4.0 update has a detailed and quite an elaborate change log which takes you through the feature list and changes. There are Glyph related features which make use of the tiny screen at the back.

Live Updates deliver real-time ride, delivery, and timer information directly to your screen and the Glyph Interface, unifying lock-screen, notification, and light-based cues so you can track progress instantly without opening an app.

Any app that supports Android 16's Live Updates feature will now start supporting Nothing's Glyph Progress feature. This means Nothing can support far more apps than before.

A refined Extra Dark Mode deepens blacks, improves contrast, and reduces power use across the system. It brings a calmer, more focused look to Notifications, Quick Settings, and the App Drawer, enhancing both comfort and visibility in low light. It now extends to first-party apps like Essential Space and Launcher, with wider integration to follow.

Swipe Left For Next Video

Nothing OS 4.0 enhances how the system feels in motion. Every touch, swipe, and gesture now responds with more depth and tactility.

We expect the Phone 2a series and the CMF Phone model to get their Android 16 roll out soon.
