‘No More Morgue Aesthetics’: Vande Bharat Sleeper’s Glow-Up And ‘Flight-Like’ Food Service Impresses Passengers | Video
The newly launched Vande Bharat Sleeper train is becoming a talking point online with passengers sharing their first-hand experiences from inside the upgraded coaches. From interiors to onboard services, many say the journey feels different from what they are used to on Indian trains.
Now, a couple of viral videos have surfaced online that highlight the train’s bedding and food service. These clips give a closer look at what passengers can expect onboard the premium sleeper service.
‘No More Morgue Aesthetics’: Passenger On New Bedding In Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
In one such video, a passenger showcased the bedding provided during her journey with an overlay text: “POV: Indian Railways said, ‘No more MORGUE aesthetics in 3 AC’."
The passenger also wrote in the caption, “Indian railway just changed the colour white…and it suddenly does not feel like a morgue any more…"
The clip shows passenger resting on her berth using bedsheet featuring colourful, aesthetic block-print designs. It is a noticeable shift from the plain white linen traditionally used in AC coaches.
For many frequent travellers, the change stands out, as the earlier all-white setup often gave coaches a rather clinical, almost “morgue-like" feel as the user pointed out.
What Passengers Now Get: Premium Linen Kit Explained
Ahead of the launch, the Railway Board had already outlined an upgrade in onboard comfort. Each passenger is now provided with a premium mill-made linen kit which includes a bedsheet, pillow with cover, a wool-rich blanket with cover and a hand towel.
These kits are being rolled out across all AC classes to maintain a more premium and consistent travel experience.
‘Flight Like Service Now In Train’: Food Service On Vande Bharat Sleeper
In another video, a vlogger highlighted the food service on the Vande Bharat Sleeper. The overlay text on the video reads, “Flight like service now in train."
The clip shows a railway staff member distributing sealed meal boxes inside a clean compartment while wearing gloves, a mask and a hairnet. He is seen serving passengers using a large, enclosed blue trolley that appears clean and well-maintained.
Speed, Comfort And Connectivity: What The Train Offers
The Howrah-Guwahati (Kamakhya) Vande Bharat Sleeper was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17. It is designed to cut travel time by around 2.5 hours.
With a design speed of 180 kmph and 16 coaches, the train can accommodate over 800 passengers across 3-tier, 2-tier and First Class AC categories. It is also equipped with safety features like Kavach and emergency talk-back systems.
