Nikki Haley’s Son Says Even Legal Immigration Should Stop, Cites Job Crisis Among US Youth
Nalin Haley, son of former US ambassador to the UN and Republican leader Nikki Haley, said the United States should halt not only illegal but also legal immigration, arguing that there are no jobs left for young Americans.
Speaking to UnHerd, the 24-year-old said many in his generation, including his own friends, are struggling to find work despite holding top college degrees.
“My friend group from high school, all graduated, great degrees from great schools. It's been a year and a half, and not one of them has a job—not one," Haley said. “I'm angry at that, because I'm having to try and help my friends get jobs when their parents got jobs immediately—not just after graduating college, but out of high school."
Wrong again. We care about religion and Christians have every right to want to be represented by another Christian. The 2010's talking points are so cringe bro https://t.co/LugOG6wm1d— Nalin Haley (@Nalin_Haley) November 5, 2025
Haley, who identifies as a vocal MAGA supporter, also said that anyone who “hates America" should not be allowed to stay. Referring to journalist Mehdi Hasan, he added, “No, I quite literally mean that. I'm often sarcastic, but not in this case. I mean, he hates America. If you hate America, you shouldn't be in America… Everyone wants to make it so complicated. That's the thing with the past generation. They always talk about the rules, regulations, process. No, it's simple. If you don't like America, get out."

He also said that as long as Americans are facing unemployment and medical debt, the US should end all foreign aid. Currently working in finance, Haley told UnHerd that he doesn't see himself being able to buy a home in the current economy.
“My parents bought their first house for $90,000. I mean, that house probably now is worth $400,000. How can we compete?" he said.
