New Renault Duster India debut tomorrow – what’s new for Indian buyers
Renault is set to unveil the new Renault Duster in India on January 26, 2026, coinciding with the Republic Day holiday. This marks the return of a nameplate that helped shape the compact SUV segment when it first launched in India in 2012. The upcoming model is a third-generation SUV built on the CMF-B platform and tailored for the Indian market with specific design and feature updates. Renault has confirmed the debut date and shared teasers showing changes to the exterior styling, while key details such as engines, features and pricing are expected to be revealed at the launch event.
The new Renault Duster will arrive as a more modern SUV compared with its predecessor, which reflects global design cues and local tweaks. There will be distinctive LED DRLs and updated exterior elements aimed at balancing ruggedness with contemporary styling. The SUV will feature a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver display, wireless charging, and a suite of safety technologies that will include ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a first for Renault in India.
Engine options are not yet officially confirmed, but industry expectations point toward turbo-petrol powertrains, including a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with manual or automatic gearboxes.
Renault's strategy with the new Duster is part of a broader effort to revive its business in India, where its market share had declined in recent years. The company aims to leverage the Duster's historic reputation to regain traction against established rivals in the compact and mid-size SUV categories. Competition includes models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
While official pricing details are yet to be released, industry estimates place the new Duster's price range between roughly Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Bookings and deliveries are expected soon after the reveal.
For buyers, the January 26 debut offers the first official look at Renault's latest SUV and a clearer picture of specifications, features as well as variant structure. Given its legacy and updated design, the new Renault Duster is positioned to compete in one of India's busiest SUV segments.
