N Srinivasan-led promoter group raises stake in CSK holding co

The promoter group of Chennai Super Kings Cricket has increased its stake in the holding company. EWS Finance and Investments significantly boosted its shareholding. N Srinivasan leads the promoter group. Rupa Gurunath's stake as trustee has reduced to zero. CSKCL reported a net profit of ₹148 crore for the year ended March 2025.

Mumbai: The promoter group of Chennai Super Kings Cricket (CSKCL) has increased its shareholding in the entity to 47.22% from 41.63% in FY24. CSKCL is the holding company of Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Within this, promoter entity EWS Finance and Investments increased its stake to 47.08% from 36.22% in the previous year.

Former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief N Srinivasan, who leads the promoter group, along with his wife Chitra Srinivasan and daughter Rupa Gurunath, collectively hold the remaining 0.15% stake. In FY24, Rupa Gurunath held 5.26% in the company in her capacity as a trustee of Financial Service Trust and Securities Services Trust. Her stake as trustee has now reduced to zero. The company has not disclosed any reason for this change.

Srinivasan joined the CSKCL board as director on February 10 and was appointed chairman on May 10. Rupa Gurunath became a director on February 10 and was designated as whole-time director with effect from August 24.

CSKCL reported a net profit of ₹148 crore for the year ended March 2025, compared with ₹201 crore in the previous financial year, according to its annual filings.
