Rumours linking Tilak Varma and Telugu actress Sreeleela first picked up steam after Sreeleela’s mother, Dr Swarnalatha, was reportedly spotted during Mumbai Indians’ IPL clash against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala. The appearance quickly caught the attention of fans online, with social media users speculating about a possible connection between the actress and the Mumbai Indians star. The chatter only grew louder after claims surfaced that Sreeleela had also attended a cricket match where someone from her team was allegedly seen wearing a jersey with “Tilak" written on it. Since Tilak is one of Mumbai Indians’ most popular young stars and Sreeleela has a massive Telugu fan base, the pairing quickly caught attention online.
Adding to the rumours, fans also noticed alleged social media activity between the two, including claims that they may have unfollowed each other amid the rumours.
Viral Surya Kumar Yadav moment fuels speculation
The latest buzz started after a clip featuring Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma began trending online. In the video, Tilak appears focused with his headphones on while walking through what seems to be a hotel lobby after a match. Suryakumar is then heard teasing him about being “in love", instantly sending social media into overdrive. Fans quickly connected the joke to the ongoing Sreeleela rumours, though Suryakumar did not directly mention the actress in the clip.
The moment has exploded among younger cricket fans because Tilak already enjoys a huge female fan following online. Many fan accounts regularly describe the left-handed batter as one of Indian cricket’s biggest Gen Z crushes.
Reddit users defend Tilak amid dating chatter
As rumours spread across social media, several Reddit users pushed back against the speculation and urged people not to jump to conclusions over match appearances or social media activity.

Sreeleela is presently busy shooting for filmmaker Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic drama opposite Kartik Aaryan, which is expected to release in 2026. Meanwhile, Tilak’s cricket career is reaching a new level. Apart from being one of Mumbai Indians’ biggest young stars and a regular part of India’s white-ball setup, the 23-year-old was recently named captain of the India A squad for the upcoming ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka.
