PM Modi hailed the AI Summit in Bharat as a proud moment for the Global South, emphasizing India’s commitment to inclusive and responsible artificial intelligence development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled his human-centric ‘MANAV’ vision for artificial intelligence at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi, mentioning that the future of AI must be moral, sovereign and valid.
Emphasising the need to place people at the heart of technological transformation, Modi called for making “skilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning a mass movement” to prepare societies for the rapidly evolving digital era.
Addressing global delegates, the Prime Minister said the future of work must be inclusive, trusted and human-centric. “We must make skilling, reskilling, and lifelong learning a mass movement. The future of work will be inclusive, trusted, and human-centric. If we move forward together, artificial intelligence will elevate the potential of humanity,” he said.
Modi described the summit as a historic moment for the Global South, noting that India, home to one-sixth of humanity and the world’s largest tech talent pool, is playing a leading role in shaping the global AI conversation. He reiterated that while AI is making machines intelligent, it is, more importantly, expanding human capabilities at an unprecedented speed and scale.
