Milk Prices Hiked By Rs 4 Per Litre In Odisha; Check New Rates
Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation raises milk prices by Rs 4 per litre and hikes procurement rates for cow and buffalo milk.
Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation has raised milk prices by Rs 4 per litre, citing higher processing and transportation expenses.
Announcing the revision, Odisha Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik said toned milk will now cost Rs 54 per litre, up from Rs 50, while premium milk has been increased to Rs 58 from Rs 54.

The price of gold premium milk has been revised to Rs 60 per litre from Rs 56, and the gold premium plus variant will now be sold at Rs 64, up from Rs 60, PTI reported.
The new rates came into effect on Sunday. Half-litre pouches of toned and premium milk will now be priced at Rs 27 and Rs 29, respectively.
Mallik said the hike was necessary due to rising input costs. “Milk prices have not been revised for a long time. We will purchase milk at a higher price for the benefit of farmers. Compared to other branded companies, Omfed’s price is still considerably lower,” he said, adding that quality would not be compromised.
At the same time, procurement prices have also been increased. Farmers will now receive Rs 39.05 per litre for cow milk, an increase of Rs 1, while the procurement price for buffalo milk has gone up by Rs 1.60 per litre.
