Mike Tyson vs Floyd Mayweather Officially Set: Dates, Location, All You Need To Know
Although it was announced in September that an exhibition between boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather would take place, not many details were revealed.
Up until now.
According to Tyson, things have been ironed out.
In an interview with Ring Magazine, Tyson said his highly anticipated exhibition face-off against Floyd Mayweather is going to take place in Africa in March 2026.

“It's going to be in March, and it's going to be in Africa," Tyson told ‘An Experience With', as per the Ring Magazine.
“This is going to be incredible. We're going to break all the records. It's going to be one of the biggest events in the history of the sport."
Given the significant difference in weight, it appears as though the fight will be contested under catchweight rules.
There is no word on other rules or whether Tyson will push for two-minute rounds as he did against Paul.
A Meeting of Legends
Tyson, now 59 years old, was one of the most feared heavyweights in boxing history. Known as “Iron Mike," he compiled a professional record of 50-7 with 44 knockouts, becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history at 20 years old.
Mayweather, by contrast, represents the pinnacle of defensive boxing brilliance. The now 48-year-old “Money" Mayweather retired undefeated at 50-0, collecting world titles across five different weight divisions.
Tyson's Return to the Spotlight
Tyson has remained active on the exhibition circuit but struggled in his most recent outing. In November 2024, he faced YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas. Despite drawing a massive live crowd of around 70,000 and millions more on pay-per-view, Tyson was outclassed and barely landed a clean punch in the eight-round affair.
Still, his name continues to command attention, and the prospect of sharing the ring with Mayweather guarantees global interest.
Mayweather's Exhibition Career
Since officially retiring in 2017 after defeating UFC star Conor McGregor in one of the most lucrative fights in combat sports history, Mayweather has regularly participated in exhibitions.

His opponents have ranged from Japanese kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa to YouTuber Logan Paul, with his most recent victory coming in August 2024 against John Gotti III in Mexico.
Mayweather has often framed these events as opportunities to “entertain" while also adding to his already enormous financial empire.
