JSW MG Motor India will unveil prices for its new flagship SUV, the Majestor, on 12 February, marking the brand’s most ambitious push yet into the premium D+ SUV space. First showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, the Majestor is positioned above the Gloster and is aimed squarely at heavyweights such as the Toyota Fortuner Legender.
Visually, the Majestor adopts a bold and upright stance, underlined by a large, matrix-inspired grille and a split headlamp setup with distinctive LED daytime running lights. The sculpted bonnet, flared wheel arches and 19-inch alloy wheels enhance its road presence, while blacked-out pillars, roof rails, faux skid plates and dual exhaust tips lend it a rugged yet premium appeal. Updates to the front and rear bumpers, along with revised lighting elements, give the SUV a modern and assertive character.
The Majestor is underpinned by the Maxus D90 architecture, a full-size SUV platform that is already on sale in several international markets. Its overall design and proportions reflect this global lineage, and the production-spec model closely mirrors the version previously displayed at auto shows and spotted during testing in India.
Inside, although MG has not officially detailed the cabin, the layout is expected to feature dual 12.3-inch screens, one for the infotainment system and another for the digital instrument cluster. Other anticipated highlights include a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, wireless charging, a 12-speaker sound system, powered tailgate and a 360-degree camera. The SUV is also likely to offer Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) along with electrically adjustable front seats featuring heating and massage functions, reinforcing its flagship positioning.
Powering the Majestor will likely be a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing around 213bhp and 478Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Customers can expect both rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations, broadening its appeal for urban as well as off-road usage.
With its combination of size, feature-rich cabin and proven diesel powertrain, the MG Majestor is set to intensify competition in the premium SUV segment. Alongside the Fortuner Legender, it will also take on rivals such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron and Nissan X-Trail. Pricing will ultimately determine how strongly it challenges the established players in this space.
