‘Making Them Fall Into Darkest Hole...’: After Premanand Maharaj, Actor Warns Against ‘Maid For Kids’ Culture
In today's fast-paced urban life, one of the most disturbing cultural shifts is quietly becoming the norm. Kids are finding emotional comfort not in their parents but in maids and caretakers. A few days ago, a clip of Premanand Maharaj stirred conversations around parenting and the need to prioritise a child's early years. Now, actor Sudhanshu Pandey has added a powerful and uncomfortable truth to that debate, which many hesitate to acknowledge.
Speaking on the Dad-Sense Podcast with Subhasis Mishra, Sudhanshu did not sugarcoat the situation. He began by describing a scene that usually happens in countless high-rise buildings and modern households. According to him, children reach out to their caretakers for hugs, safety and reassurance, which is “very stressful".

Sudhanshu Pandey said, “In my own building, if there are 100 kids, I would see 95 with the maids and the servants. I feel very sad because the child is hugging the maid. If they get scared, they run to the maid — because that's who they have. And it is strange that the parents don't realise this. You're missing out, your child is missing out, and you're just letting it go."
He added that this emotional gap shapes a child's entire sense of direction. The actor added, “They find escapes without realising into all these social media platforms and this and that. And then they start depending on that for validation."
Sudhanshu Pandey Shares Consequences Of Modern Parenting
Sudhanshu did not hold back while describing the consequences of this modern parenting pattern. He warned, “You are making them fall into the darkest hole possible, a place they might not recover from."
Sudhanshu's words hit hard because they reflect a reality many families are quietly living with. While parents are caught in demanding work schedules, children seek the warmth they naturally crave, and in this scenario, maids step into the scene.
Premanand Maharaj Urges Parents To Prioritise Time
Before Sudhanshu Pandey, spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj also asked parents to reflect on how much time they truly give their children. One of his clips, shared on Instagram, sparked a conversation on parenting and the challenges of balancing work and the responsibility of kids.

The discussion began when a father expressed his concerns, saying, “We have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and since we are unable to give enough time to her upbringing, there is a constant worry, especially in the new job."
Responding to the concerned parent, Premanand Maharaj highlighted the need to spend quality time with children instead of prioritising money. Urging parents to focus on giving kids love and attention, the spiritual leader even explained that providing guidance, affection and moral support to children is rewarding.
