Indian traffic rarely follows the rules the way it appears in handbooks. It follows impatience. On busy roads, decisions are often made in seconds – skip the signal, squeeze past a gap, take the wrong side if it saves time. Most days, these moments go unnoticed. Some days, they end up online. One such moment is now doing the rounds on Instagram, where a nighttime traffic jam turns into something far more dangerous.
In the viral clip, a few men are seen lifting an entire motorcycle over a concrete road divider to escape congestion, while cars and two-wheelers continue moving on both sides.
The clip, shared on Instagram, appears to be shot at night amid heavy traffic. Cars and two-wheelers are packed tightly on both sides of the road. Instead of waiting, a couple of men are seen climbing onto the divider and hoisting their bikes across to the opposite lane.

What The Video Shows
In the visuals, one man lifts the front wheel of his motorcycle onto the divider while another steadies the rear. Another man picks up and lifts the vehicle from the other side. People on the road glance over, some watching, some visibly annoyed.
There's no police presence visible in the clip.
Internet Reacts: Shock, Sarcasm And Anger
As the reel crossed thousands of views and likes, the comments section filled up quickly. Many users expressed disbelief.
Several comments questioned the logic behind the move, pointing out the danger not just to the riders, but to motorists around them. Others called it a reflection of everyday road behaviour, with users sarcastically remarking that dividers now seem optional.
“One wrong move and this could've ended very badly," read a comment. “Traffic rules only exist in theory now," wrote another one.
A user wrote, “Saving five minutes isn't worth risking your life like this." “This is exactly why roads feel unsafe at night," read another comment.
A Familiar Pattern On Indian Roads
While the clip feels extreme, many users said it looked uncomfortably familiar. Videos of wrong-side driving, jumping signals and cutting across medians frequently surface online. This one stood out because of how physically risky it was – lifting an entire motorcycle over a divider in live traffic.
Road safety experts have repeatedly warned that dividers exist to prevent head-on collisions. Crossing them, especially with vehicles, increases the risk of fatal accidents.
