List Of Highways and Expressways Where FASTag Annual Pass Is Invalid
The FASTag Annual Pass by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has given private vehicle owners a convenient way to pay tolls on select National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE) since it was introduced on August 15, 2025.
For a one-time payment of Rs 3,000, the pass gives 200 toll-free trips in a year or unlimited travel for one year. Soon after the launch of the annual pass, NHAI attracted a wider section of travellers and fetched over five lakh subscriptions in less than half a week. But the FASTag annual pass is not valid on all highways and expressways. Especially those managed by the state authorities. For toll payments on these excluded routes, travellers will have to use the regular FASTag account.
List Of Highways And Expressways Excluded
Since the FASTag annual pass is valid only on NHAI and the central government's toll plazas, the facility can't be operational on state-managed expressways or local roads. Here is a complete list of highways and expressways excluded by NHAI for FASTag annual pass operations:
Bundelkhand Expressway (Uttar Pradesh)
Agra-Lucknow Expressway (Uttar Pradesh)
Yamuna Expressway (Uttar Pradesh)
Purvanchal Expressway (Uttar Pradesh)
Mumbai-Pune Expressway – operated under the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC)
Atal Setu (Goa) – (bridge managed by the state that has its own toll system).
Samruddhi Mahamarg (Maharashtra) – (state highway not covered under the FASTag annual pass scheme.)
NHAI designed the FASTag annual pass exclusively for national highways and expressways under the central authority. The scheme doesn't cover the tolls managed by the state authorities.
All About FASTag Annual Pass Usage
Tolls on commercial fleets, taxis and parking fees remain outside the coverage of the FASTag annual pass. Even if you hold the NHAI's special pass, toll payments will be deducted from your regular FASTag account balance while travelling on routes outside the centrally managed tolls.

The annual pass was mainly aimed at private and non-commercial vehicles. It does not apply to commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, taxis, yellow-plate vehicles or other vehicles registered only by chassis number. To be eligible for the pass, one must link their active FASTag to the vehicle registration.
One can use the official NHAI portal or the Rajmarg Yatra App to apply for the annual pass. Submit Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) and FASTag ID for verification and make a one-time payment of Rs 3,000 using the various payment options provided.
