LeBron James Reveals The ONLY Thing He’s Not Excited About In His NBA Comeback
LeBron James is inching closer to his long-awaited season debut — but he's not making any big promises just yet.
“We've been taking it literally one minute, one hour, one step at a time throughout this whole process," James said on Monday.
“See how I feel this afternoon, see how I feel tonight… just got to see how the body responds over the next 24 hours-plus."
Lakers coach JJ Redick echoed the uncertainty, calling James' status for Tuesday's home game against the Utah Jazz “TBD."
So officially, James is listed as questionable.
Still, there was one big development: James finally completed a full 5-on-5 practice — his first of the entire season.

He missed all of training camp, the entire preseason, and the Lakers' first 14 games because of sciatica that shot through his lower back and down his right side.
“It definitely sucks," James said of the time away. “Never in my life, since I started playing the game of basketball, have I ever not started the season… It's been a mind test, but I'm built for it."
James has been out since early October, and the injury kept him completely off the floor for more than a month. But momentum quietly shifted last week when he logged multiple full practices with the South Bay Lakers, the team's G League affiliate.
The twist? This wasn't his first run-in with sciatica.
LeBron James says this is not the first time he's dealt with sciatica. He also had it during the offseason two years ago. “If you ain't never had it … I pray you never get it" pic.twitter.com/NtBOWUljnv— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) November 17, 2025
“It's the second time I've dealt with it," he revealed, noting he first battled it in the summer of 2023. “If you ain't never had it… I pray you never get it. It's not fun."
Mobility work and rehab exercises have helped, but he's keeping his mindset simple: stay positive and keep moving.
Meanwhile, the Lakers held down the fort. They finished a brutal five-game, cross-country road trip at 3–2, capped by a dominant 119–95 win over Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks.
Now, James says the final hurdle is conditioning, and well… travelling.
“My lungs feel like a newborn baby," he joked. “I got to get my lungs back up to a grown man."

“I missed these guys. Just seeing them go out there and work. I love the work, I love the process of working. But I don't miss the travel. I'm about to turn 41. I was happy to be at home on my couch after working out."
When he does check in, history follows (again). His debut will mark the start of his record-setting 23rd NBA season.
