Lando Norris Lifts F1 Championship Trophy In Tashkent; Max Verstappen Watches From Afar | WATCH
Lando Norris finally got his hands on the Formula One winner's trophy on Friday night in Tashkent, sealing a season-long dream — even if his closest rival wasn't in the room.
Outgoing champion Max Verstappen missed the prize-giving gala due to illness but still made sure to congratulate Norris and McLaren via a recorded message.

Title Sealed in Abu Dhabi Drama
Norris clinched his first F1 world title in a nail-biting finale at Abu Dhabi last Sunday, edging Verstappen by just two points across a gruelling 24-race season; while McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri finished third overall.
At 26, Norris becomes the 35th Formula One world champion since the championship began in 1950 — and the 11th Briton to lift the sport's biggest prize.
“I Finally Lived the Dream"
Speaking on stage in the Uzbek capital, Norris didn't hide his emotion.
“Obviously, this is a lot of people's dreams, a lot of racing drivers' dreams, and I got to finally live it," he said. “Live that one dream that I had when I was a little kid."
A slip of the tongue followed — one that didn't go unnoticed.
lando: “and f*ck ups.. i can say that here? i'm ok? *gets whispered that he's gonna get fined* oh sorry yeah i got fined! i can pay it off now"PLEASE 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/ov6KDEIOQt

Standing alongside newly re-elected FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, Norris dropped an expletive. Ben Sulayem, who has cracked down on driver swearing this season, jokingly replied: “10,000."
“I got fined," Norris laughed. “But I can pay it off now."
Verstappen Sends His Respect
Verstappen, meanwhile, was still recognised on the night, winning F1 Action of the Year for his bold opening-lap overtake on Piastri at Imola.
“I'm very sorry that I couldn't be with you tonight. The doctors have prevented me from flying," Verstappen said in his message.
