Bigg Boss 19: Kunickaa Sadanand Says Farrhana Bhatt Is ‘More Real’ Than Tanya Mittal
Bigg Boss Season 19 is inching closer to its finale, with only eight contestants left in the race for the coveted trophy after Kunickaa Sadanand's eviction last week. Following her exit, the actress spoke with an entertainment news portal, discussing various aspects of the Salman Khan-hosted show and admitting that she found Farrhana Bhatt to be more genuine than Tanya Mittal.
In her conversation with Pinkvilla, Kunickaa also addressed several accusations made against her during the show.
Kunickaa Sadanand On Using Age Card
Speaking about allegations from contestants Farrhana Bhatt and Tanya Mittal that she used her age as an emotional shield, Kunickaa admitted the remarks affected her deeply.
“Maine bhale hi apna age card nahi khela lekin mere experience aur mere age ki wajah se mujhe zarur bura laga… main chupke se raat ko apne bistar mein royi bhi hoon (Although I didn't play any age card, I definitely felt bad because of my experience and age. I never told them, but I did cry secretly in my bed at night)," she shared, adding, “Aapne badi dukhti rag me haath rakh diya, so…acha nahi laga."
Kunickaa Sadanand Says Farrhana Bhatt Is ‘More Real'
When asked who appeared more genuine between Tanya and Farrhana, Kunickaa immediately chose Farrhana. She also clarified her remarks during the ‘sanskar' controversy, where she had criticised Tanya's upbringing.
Kunickaa explained that “sanskaar" was the wrong word and that her actual concern was Tanya's lack of independence and privileged behaviour. Clarifying her statement, she said, “I think jo main keh rahi thi aapke mummy papa ne aapko self-independent nahi banaya. According to the story that Tanya told me, she was brought up as a spoilt child, and the way she behaves like a privileged person, she never repeats anything – clothes or jewellery."
She also recalled advising Tanya to donate some of her vast collection of clothes and jewellery she keeps in a 10,000 square feet area, but said Tanya refused due to possessiveness. “I told her many times that she could donate some of her clothes to a poor child for his marriage or to college-going girls. But she said no, no, I cannot give it, I am possessive. To maine kaha ki ye bahut hi disgusting thought hai," she added.
Addressing The ‘Lesbian' Controversy
Kunickaa also opened up about the much-discussed “lesbian" remark, stating that the context behind the conversation was not aired.
“Usse pahle ek jhagda hua tha. I would not like to elaborate on that, kafi maine baat kar li aur ye hum jitna baar baar baat karenge Malti ke upar bhi asar hoga aur baaki uss community ke upar bhi asar hoga. (There was a fight before that. I would not like to elaborate on that. I have talked a lot, and the more we talk about it, it will have an impact on Malti as well as the rest of that community)," she said, declining to elaborate further.
She clarified she is not homophobic, noting that she has close friends from the LGBTQIA+ community and even represents transgender individuals in court. “That was not the right place, I should not have said that, and I should be mindful. Sometimes we forget that cameras are watching us," she added.
