Kochi Metro Ticket Discount: The Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has announced a ticket fare revision as it is set to increase the discount on mobile QR tickets to accomplish the target of complete digitalisation of sales
Earlier, Kochi metro passengers were given a 10 per cent discount on the Mobile QR ticket. Now, raising the discount percentage, Kochi Metro has announced to offer a 15 per cent discount on ticket prices to passengers who book a metro ticket through mobile applications.
The short-term offer on digital metro tickets will come into effect from January 26, 2026. The KMRL said that the offer is short-term and intended to encourage commuters to opt for digital tickets. The additional discount is subject to revocation. The initiative forms part of Kochi Metro's efforts to transition to a fully digital ticketing system.
Earlier, entry gates were upgraded to a camera-based QR scanning system, which has made mobile QR ticket scanning smoother and more seamless.
34 per cent of total metro tickets in Kochi are booked through digital platforms, which Kochi Metro aims to digitalise completely.
