An Indian woman who returned to Kerala from Dubai with her family has opened up about why they chose to leave the UAE. In a detailed Instagram post, she explained that the move was not sudden but a well-thought-out decision taken after careful discussion as a family. She stressed that their priority was peace of mind rather than lifestyle or status.
She said the turning point came when both their visa renewal and house rent renewal in Dubai happened at the same time. That moment made them pause and rethink their life there. According to her, this break helped them calmly evaluate what truly mattered to them as a family and as a couple.
Why They Decided To Move Back
The woman made it clear that their choice was not rushed. “This was not an impulsive decision. It was about timing, alignment, and mental peace," she said. She added that the simultaneous visa and rent renewals forced them to reflect deeply on their future.
She further explained, “That pause forced us to look at everything calmly, practically, and honestly together as a family, and especially as partners."
School And Daily Life Made A Difference
A major reason behind their return was their child’s school commute. In Dubai, their child had to leave home at 6 am and travel almost 90 minutes every day. In Kerala, an international school is just 10 minutes away, making daily life much easier and less stressful.
She also spoke about the comfort of living in her own home in Kerala instead of paying high rent in Dubai. Being close to family and familiar faces helped her reconnect with her community, something she felt she missed while living abroad.
Life Without Debt
The woman said that moving back also improved their financial situation. They no longer have loans or EMIs to worry about, which brought them a sense of relief and freedom.
“Today, we are in a no-debt, no-EMI situation. That mental freedom mattered more than we realised at the time," she said.
What She Told Others
In her caption, she encouraged others to talk openly before making big life decisions. “What worked for us may not exactly work for you; however, one can use the framework for anything that you want to work on," she wrote.
She added, “If you are a single parent, talk to your children. If you are a young couple with no kids, talk to your spouse. If you are a family of husband, wife, and children, talk to everyone in your family. In every situation, communication and open joint discussion are key."
