New Delhi: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is keen to engage with India's semiconductor and new energy projects, its chief representative in India Takeuchi Takuro said. The agency, which is involved with more than 300 projects in India through Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan agreements and training programmes, plans to commit JPY 275 billion (around Rs 16,000 crore) this year in India as against JPY 191 billion (around Rs 11,100 crore) last year.
"Semiconductor is a top agenda in India, and we can assist on how to reach Japan's excellence. New energy such as biogas is another area where we can see what to do," Takuro told ET.
His statement comes as the JICA on Tuesday signed loan agreements with the government to provide Japanese ODA loans for four key projects.
