JEE Main 2026 Result: NTA To Release Session 1 Result By February 12; How To Check
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results by February 12. The entrance exam is conducted for admission to engineering, architecture and planning programmes across the country. Once declared, candidates will be able to check and download their scorecards from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The Session 1 exams were held on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 for engineering candidates, while the architecture and planning papers were conducted on January 29. The exam was held in two shifts, the morning shift from 9 am to 12 noon and the afternoon shift from 3 pm to 6 pm.
Students who appeared for the computer-based test were allowed to raise objections to the provisional answer key by paying a fee of Rs 200 per question.
More than 13 lakh candidates appeared for the first session this year. Out of them, around 2.5 lakh students will qualify to take JEE Advanced, which is required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The exam is also used for admissions to BTech, BArch and BPlanning courses in government and private colleges.
Candidates can follow these steps once the result link is activated:
• Visit the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in
• Click on the “View JEE Main 2026 Result" link
• Enter application number and password
• Submit the details to view the scorecard
• Download and print the result for future reference.

After the results are declared, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will begin the counselling process for admissions to IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other government-funded technical institutions.
The second session of JEE Main 2026 is expected to be conducted from April 2 to April 9, though the detailed notification is yet to be issued.
The NTA has started the registration process for JEE Main 2026 Session 2. Candidates who wish to appear for the next attempt can submit the application form by February 25.
