IV Drip Bar To ‘Cure Hangover’ At Indian Wedding Sparks Health Concerns: ‘Next Kya...Open Heart Surgery?’ | Video
Weddings in India are often grand affairs, known for their elaborate themes, lavish decor and non-stop festivities. However, a recent destination wedding caught attention for taking luxury to an unexpected level. A viral video shows guests receiving IV drips, apparently to “cure hangover".
The Instagram clip shows guests hooked up to vitamin IV infusions while lounging on sofas. The caption reads, “POV: You're at a destination wedding…and instead of nimbu paani, there's a legit IV bar next to the poolside."

These IV bars are promoted as “hangover cures" or wellness boosters, especially during weddings that often involve late nights, alcohol and heavy meals. The drips, reportedly packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, claim to deliver instant energy and glowing skin. However, doctors caution that using such treatments without medical supervision, particularly in non-clinical settings, can pose serious risks.

‘Bahut Cool Ho Gaya, Ab Next Kya… Open Surgery'
Shared on November 19, the video has over 3.9 million views. Many criticised the trend. A user wrote, “No amount of glorification can make this look cool. It's your body you are sacrificing." Another joked, “Bahut cool ho gaya, ab next kya… open surgery?"
Some questioned the legality and safety of IV drips at private events. “The vendor can be put behind bars. This is fatal to health… Has this been cleared by any medical body?" a person asked.

Others lamented the shift from traditional rituals: “Indian marriages were supposed to be about rituals and pujas… where did it get derailed so much that daru became mainstream and now this IV drip?" An individual put out a cautionary note, saying: “IV glutathione + vitamin… not advisable without proper doctor consultation."
While some view IV drips as a modern luxury upgrade, others raise concerns about potential health risks and ethical issues.
