iPhone 18 Pro series launch is getting closer and with September 2026 knocking on the doors we expect Apple to give us the good news soon. The iPhone 18 Pro launch is highly awaited, not only because it is the iPhones but also we could see Apple introduce its first-ever foldable in the market this year.
And if that wasn’t a reason enough, Apple CEO John Ternus will be hosting his first event at the company after taking over from Tim Cook. The iPhone 18 Pro series will have the Pro and the 18 Pro Max once again but there could be some serious differences between the models and here are the details.
iPhone 18 Pro And 18 Pro Max Expected price In India
The iPhone 18 Pro price in India at launch is tipped to be higher than 2025 and we could see it start as high as Rs 1,50,000 in the country this year. The iPhone 18 Pro Max could start even higher at around Rs 1,70,000 for the buyers in the country.
iPhone 18 Pro And 18 Pro Max Features Compared
The iPhone 18 Pro model will be the smaller of the two Pro versions once again but the differences don’t end there. Yes, they will be using the same A20 Pro chip with 12GB RAM on board and the same storage variants also offered. You will also see Apple offer the same iOS 27 update on both the 18 Pro models.
But expect the triple camera system iPhone 18 Pro to vary from the 18 Pro Max with the latter featuring variable aperture for the first time on an iPhone. That’s not all, the bigger flagship is also said to come with a new telephoto lens to help you capture closer and detailed macro photos. This could be a game changer for Apple and tempt more people to spend extra and get the bigger 18 Pro Max model this year.
Having two different sizes with the 18 Pros mean you will also get battery packs of varying capacity on these models. Reports say the 18 Pro will have a 4,800mAh unit while Apple could offer a 5,000mAh+ battery on the bigger 18 Pro Max model this year. The charging speeds might not change much (or at all) and the adapter will be sold separately as Apple has been doing for a while.
Does The Rs 20,000 Price Difference Make It Better?
Apple usually offers the Pro and Pro Max versions with a difference of around Rs 20,000 and it seems the 2026 flagships will have the same range. But the rumoured upgrades could make the 18 Pro Max more tempting and allow Apple to sell more of the devices in the market.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to feature a larger camera module, a variable aperture camera, and a new Sony IMX905 sensor for its primary camera. It may also include new 48MP sensors and two new telephoto lenses with 6x optical zoom and improved prism technology.
Apple is expected to launch its first foldable iPhone, referred to as the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra, in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models. While the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to ship in September, the foldable model might be available to customers later, possibly in October or even December.
