Instagram Reels are popular and millions watch billions of videos every day but now the platform is finally giving you the power to decide what kind of Reels show up on your feed.
We have been hearing rumours about this tool coming to users and now Instagram has officially shared the details about how you can tweak the algorithm in Reels to see the relevant short videos in your feed and the company is using AI (surprise) to deliver that experience.
“Using AI, you can now more easily view and personalize the topics that shape your Reels, making recommendations feel even more tailored to you," Instagram has said in its post.
Reels That You Want To See: How The New Tool Works
You have been given the option to tweak how the search shows you results and Instagram is offering the same level customisation for Reels videos as well. The Reels Algorithm option will be available at the top of every Reels which you can open and select the activities and subject that is more suited for your viewing. Here's how the new option works for users:

See your top interests: View a summary of the topics Instagram thinks you care about most, right at the top.
Tune your preferences: Type in the topics you want to see more or less of, and your Reels will reflect your choices.
Share your algorithm: If you'd like, you can share your interests to your Story, so friends and followers can see what you're into.
The new Reels Algorithm is coming first to users in the US and its global rollout will happen soon, starting with English and other languages to follow later.
