Speaking to journalists at a media roundtable, Renner said the company is seeing a progressive set of demands from India and a lot of focus from Indian companies, both from B2B and B2C perspective, when it comes to AI. "We are trying to meet that demand with our investments and infrastructure," he said. He pointed out that India is investing in AI more than any other country and it is at the forefront. "When we go to the globe and ask how many customers are focusing on AI, we have very strong numbers from India when it comes to the total number of customers that are focused on it. I would call India very progressive compared to what we are seeing across the globe," Renner said.

Google's investments include the latest $15 billion commitment to build an AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, its largest investment in India till date. Renner said that having in-country investments is important in line with sovereign regulatory requirements.
