Another World Cup. Another statement. And another reminder that India still sets the global standard in kabaddi.

The Indian women's kabaddi team stamped their authority once again, defeating Chinese Taipei 35–28 in Dhaka to claim their second straight Women's Kabaddi World Cup title.

But it was the celebration that stole the show.

Just like Rohit Sharma's iconic Ric Flair–style walk during India's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph in the Caribbean, Ritu Negi delivered her own spine-tingling version.

Trophy clasped tight, she slow-walked toward her teammates, soaking in the moment as the crowd roared. Then, in one smooth lift, she hoisted the trophy skyward — and the entire squad erupted around her.

If Rohit's walk became a cricketing meme-turned-moment, Ritu's is set to join kabaddi folklore.

How The Final Unfolded

The team looked sharp from the start of the tournament, sweeping all their group-stage matches before outmuscling Iran 33–21 in the semi-final. Chinese Taipei arrived in the final with an unbeaten record of their own, but India's pressure, fitness and fearless raids were simply too much.

Captain Ritu Negi and vice-captain Pushpa Rana were the steady heartbeat of the side — Ritu dictating tempo with ice-cold composure, Pushpa attacking and defending with the kind of fearlessness that rattles opponents.

Backing them flawlessly were Champa Thakur, Bhawna Thakur, and Sakshi Sharma, whose timing and consistency kept India's grip firm throughout, to seal the deal.
