IIM Calcutta Achieves 100% Summer Internship Placements With Rs 4.5 Lakh Highest Monthly Stipend

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has completed the summer internship placement process for the 62nd batch of its flagship MBA programme. A total of 470 students received 510 offers from 183 recruiters during the placement week, which was conducted in a hybrid mode. According to an official statement by the institute, the average monthly stipend stood at Rs 1.85 lakh, while the median stipend was Rs 2 lakh per month.

The highest domestic stipend offered during the drive reached Rs 4.5 lakh per month, and the highest international stipend was Rs 6 lakh per month. The top 5 percentile of students secured stipends averaging Rs 3.4 lakh per month, highlighting the strong placement performance of the batch.

Like in previous years, IIM Calcutta attracted recruiters from a wide range of industries including consulting, finance, FMCG, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, software, and technology. The institute also reported strong participation from its long-term recruitment partners, along with several new domestic and international firms joining the placement process for the first time.

In its statement, IIM Calcutta said the support from its alumni network played a key role in facilitating the placement process. The institute followed a structured cluster-cohort model, along with unique policies such as the “dream offer" system, which allowed students to pursue their preferred roles. These measures, the institute noted, helped ensure a better match between students and recruiters, creating a mutually beneficial process.

The placement drive, which was carried out in a hybrid format, concluded smoothly with active participation from both established and new recruiters. IIM Calcutta described the outcome as “a win-win for both sides," reflecting the institute's continued reputation as one of India's top B-schools for management placements.
