‘I’m Gonna Wear’: Furious Passenger Clashes With Cab Driver Over Seatbelt; He Fires Back In Fluent English | Video
A video has surfaced online that shows an argument between a cab driver and a woman passenger. The driver is seen politely asking the woman to put on her seatbelt, but instead, she is seen arguing with him.
News18 couldn't confirm the authenticity of the cli,p but it has been widely shared online. Many viewers felt the interaction went far beyond a disagreement and raised questions about respect, language and how service workers are treated.
Caught On Cam: Woman Argues With Cab Driver Over Seatbelt
The video begins with two women entering a cab. One of them sits on the front passenger seat. As per standard procedure, the driver asks for the OTP to begin the ride. The woman in the front seat initially gives an incorrect OTP, after which her companion provides the correct one.
Soon after, the driver politely asks the front-seat passenger to wear her seatbelt. She responds, “Haan chaliye (Yes, please start)." The driver explains that she needs to wear the seatbelt as the traffic police could issue a challan.
The woman says, “Dalenge bhaiya. Pehen rahi hu, chaliye (I will put it on. Please go ahead)." The driver refuses and calmly says he cannot move the vehicle until she wears the seatbelt. He also pointed out that a police officer is nearby.
Instead of complying, the woman begins arguing. Despite repeated requests from the driver to wear the belt, she accuses him of showing off and says, “You don't have to show off that you know English." She then turns to her companion and asks her to “report that immediately."
She further claims that she did not like the driver's expression, saying, “Even the smirk we didn't like. The way you smirked when I gave the wrong OTP. Now you're shivering."
When the driver asks why she thinks he is shivering, she responds, “I don't know why you are shivering?"
“Maybe I have BP issues. I am like that," he explains.
The situation escalates when the woman turns to her companion again and says, “See what is this f***ing nonsense? Is he f***ing mad?"
The driver maintains that he has done nothing wrong. The woman then says, “He felt what I don't know. He felt he's a superstar or God knows what. You're a cab driver for us, you're gonna drive."
At this point, the driver tells her she is free to cancel the ride if she wishes, saying, “I'm not doing anything smart. You please cancel the ride if you want to." Shortly after, the women step out of the cab.
