Hyderabad Man Records ‘Scary’ Experience As Air India Express Flight’s Tyre Separates During Landing: ‘Can’t Explain What Was...’
An eyewitness clip is drawing attention after showing a tense landing involving an Air India Express aircraft in Phuket, Thailand. The flight, which was travelling from Hyderabad to Phuket, reportedly faced a nose-wheel problem during landing. A passenger on board recorded the moments around the touchdown and later shared the footage online.
The video captures what began as a normal landing, turning unexpectedly stressful for those on the flight, while also showing how the situation unfolded from inside the aircraft cabin.
Passenger Describes What Happened During Landing
The clip opens with a view from inside the plane while it is still in the air. Through the window, the runway and airport buildings can be seen getting closer as the aircraft prepares to land.
Text on the screen reads, “This was supposed to be a normal landing video, but it turned into something I’ll never forget."
Another line appears soon after, explaining what the passenger experienced during touchdown. It reads, “While landing in Phuket, the aircraft hit the runway so hard that my phone literally bounced out of my hand from the impact."
Cabin Crew Quickly Ask Passengers To Stay Seated
The video then shifts to a different moment inside the cabin. The camera points upward toward the overhead area as a passenger holds onto the handle above the seat, suggesting that the landing felt rough.
More text appears on the screen describing what happened next. It says, “Within seconds, the cabin crew started instructing everyone to remain seated."
The message continues by explaining what passengers were told later about the incident. It reads, “We later learned that a tyre had separated during the landing."
The person who shared the clip also added another line expressing relief after the situation ended safely. The text reads, “Still shaking while posting this. Grateful that everyone walked out safe today."
The video also mentions the flight details: “Flight: IX 938" and “Phuket International Airport."

Viewers React To The Landing Video Online
Shared on March 11, the video has gathered more than 4 lakh views so far and many comments from viewers reacting to the incident.
A user said, “Take care bro…good to see that u remain calm and handled it quite nicely…sometimes hard landings do happen bcoz of variable winds or training flights."
Another wrote, “So glad to see everyone is safe & sound."
“Hats off to the pilots who landed safely… Don’t see the negative side… Incidents or accidents occur unintentionally… This might be due to wind issues while runway approach… Anyways, all are safe…," a person commented.
“My girlfriend is a cabin crew and she was operating this flight. She cried while we discussed this incident over a call," another user shared.
Airline Confirms Nose-Wheel Issue On The Flight
The incident involved an Air India Express Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft operating on the Hyderabad–Phuket route. According to reports, the aircraft experienced a problem related to the nose wheel while landing at Phuket International Airport.
Footage recorded near the runway shows the aircraft during its landing roll. The plane appears to move slightly to one side as it tries to remain aligned on the runway. It slows down while drifting toward the edge of the tarmac before eventually stopping off the main runway surface.

Pictures taken after the landing show damage around the landing gear area, including a burst tyre and structural damage near the wheel.
An Air India Express spokesperson later confirmed the incident and said the crew handled the situation by following standard safety procedures.
“We confirm that our Hyderabad-Phuket flight on 11 March experienced an issue with the nose wheel at Phuket Airport. The crew followed all standard protocols, and guests were deplaned. We thank our guests, the Phuket airport authorities, and all stakeholders for their cooperation," the spokesperson said in a statement.
According to the flight tracking website Flightradar24, flight IX 938 departed Hyderabad at 6:42 am instead of its scheduled time of 6:20 am and landed at Phuket International Airport at 11:40 am local time.
