‘How Long Have You Known?’ King Charles Heckled By Protester Over Andrew-Epstein Ties
A protester publicly heckled King Charles on Monday over his brother Prince Andrew's alleged ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The incident occurred outside Lichfield Cathedral in Staffordshire, near Birmingham, where the King was greeting members of the public.
As King Charles greeted well-wishers outside the cathedral, a man shouted, “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?" and “Have you asked the police to cover up for Andrew?" The protester also questioned whether Members of Parliament should be allowed to debate the royal family in the House of Commons.
However, the King did not respond and continued meeting other members of the crowd, maintaining composure throughout the brief disruption. Palace aides did not issue an immediate comment following the incident, which comes at a delicate time for the monarchy amid renewed scrutiny of Prince Andrew's past associations.

Prince Andrew, 65, has faced ongoing criticism over his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the American financier who was convicted of sex trafficking before his death in 2019. Despite stepping back from public life in 2019 and relinquishing his title of Duke of York earlier this month, the prince remains at the centre of public debate.
Renewed attention has been fuelled by the recent publication of a posthumous memoir by Virginia Giuffre, who had accused Andrew of sexually abusing her as a teenager. Although Giuffre died by suicide in April, her memoir has reignited questions about what members of the royal family knew of Epstein's activities.
However, Andrew has consistently denied all allegations, and in 2022 reached an undisclosed out-of-court settlement with Giuffre in the United States. The settlement included a charitable donation to support victims of trafficking but contained no admission of wrongdoing.
Meanwhile, British police have confirmed they are reviewing reports suggesting that in 2011, Prince Andrew allegedly asked one of his police officers to seek damaging information about Giuffre. While no formal investigation has been opened, the claims have added another layer of controversy to the long-running controversy.

Prince Andrew's connection to Epstein dates back to 1999, when they met through Epstein's former partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who was later convicted of sex trafficking. The prince was photographed visiting Epstein's Manhattan home even after the financier's 2008 conviction for child sex offences, a decision that triggered widespread outrage.
A 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, in which Andrew denied ever meeting Giuffre and claimed he was at a Pizza Express restaurant on one of the alleged dates, was widely criticised and further damaged his credibility.
